Site Management​

Site Management​

  • Site is a high-level platform that governs administrative functions within the CloudBLM application
  • BLM Admin will be the default user and all other admins are configured further within the Site level (Similar to Windchill Configuration)
  • Create issues derived from the executed rule (Conflicts) and it gets updated across all platforms
  • Creating Business Units, adding users to teams, creating new roles are some of the key responsibilities of a Site Administrator

Business Units

Business Unit Management​

  • Business Unit is an administrative platform which comes under the Site level
  • Business Unit Administrators manage accounts of users within the entity. New users can also be created under Business Units as well
  • At Business Unit level, workflows, status, entity types and roles which are to be incorporated into projects can be managed in a more simplified manner

Workflow Definition​

Workflow Management

  • Create workflows that defines approval paths for an entity (Issues/ Documents/ RFI) within the Business Units Administration platform
  • Choose from several workflow templates (or) create custom workflows with the available statuses (Resolution can be set with Done category)
  • The Status owner is responsible for the task in hand and will have the authority to either move forward or reject the notion based on the workflow definition

Version Control

Workflow Definition and Version Control

  • Version Control is a mechanishm to track the changes with every Iteration and Revision
  • Every upload is considered as an iteration and when a final resolution is attained, the record updates version number
  • To enable version control, the admin needs to check “enable version control” option (Usually from Done Category) during workflow definition to map to a previous status thereby revising the document until it is finalized

Roles

  • Roles can be defined at both Site and Business Units levels and can be utilized within a project based on the initial configuration

Vendor Management

  • Vendor Management is a sophisticated module in CloudBLM which enables Business Units to give access to third party vendors who will be closely accociated in the project
  • Vendors are created at the Site Level and imported into specified Business Units. The imported vendors can be assigned to the projects. Individual vendor users can be created

Who creates the Site Level?

Who create new Roles and Permissions sets?

New Roles are created at the Site Level and Business Unit level by Site Admin and Business Unit Admin respectively. These roles are assigned with custom permission to control the access of various modules within ClouldBLM.

Who creates a Workflow?

CloudBLM offers a default Workflow for Issue Management, Document Management, RFI Management. Apart from the default workflows, new workflows can be created at the Site Level and Business Unit level by Site Admin and Business Unit Admin respectively.
